In the 1980s, I walked runways as a fashion model, wearing the clothes designers created.

I experienced firsthand the moment a designer’s intention for fabric takes shape in space, through the body.
That experience resurfaces as the lines I draw today, taking form through my handmade aluminum pen, ink, and tissue paper.

A monochrome line-drawing booklet and a vivid POP booklet — these two contrasting works form a trilogy I created as a portfolio of my own expression.

When I draw one image, I begin to see the several stories surrounding it. That’s why I can separate what I’ve drawn and rearrange it alongside other pieces. I shuffle them inside a clear file, searching for order and rhythm. A single image is never complete on its own. Only once arranged does it become a story — and change the order, and the story changes too. That discovery is what makes me draw the next piece. This process of editing becomes a booklet.

For the POP series, I use crayons that are no longer manufactured. Only what remains in my own stock. I recreate their color and texture digitally, then add one handmade touch to the actual booklet.

I sometimes wonder if the everyday life we live is truly our own. The physical memories and emotional shifts I’ve experienced over my life may have been overwritten somewhere along the way. The warmth of a carefree moment, an embarrassment, a sense of loneliness — these are the private truths only I know.

I draw to become a trigger — something that awakens the feelings people have tucked away in the back of their hearts. Not scattered into abstraction, but reaching directly into the memory inside you. That instant of recognition when you see a piece and think, “oh…” — the wistfulness or freedom of that remembered moment.

I connect the irreplaceable, everyday life inside each person with a single line or color, and complete it as a story. Within that, there is love — each person’s own.
